Eligibility Criteria: Before applying for the UPSC Assistant Mining Engineer Recruitment 2023, candidates must check the eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria for each post is different, and candidates must meet the following requirements:
Regional Director –
Essential Qualifications: M.Sc. in Microbiology from a recognized University or Institute; or M.Sc. in Botany with specialization in Plant Pathology or Microbiology or Mycology from a recognized University or Institute; OR M.Sc. in Agriculture with specialization in Soil Science or Agricultural Chemistry or Agronomy or Microbiology or Plant Pathology or Horticulture or Agricultural Extension from a recognized University or Institute.
Experience: Possessing ten years experience in the field of research and development of biofertilizer and other aspects of organic farming with experience in quality control of biofertilizers and organic fertilizers including two years administrative experience.
Desirable: Ph.D. in any of the subject specified in the essential qualifications above from a recognized University or Institute.
Assistant Commissioner –
Essential Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Agronomy or Agriculture with Agronomy as a subject or Agricultural Chemistry or Soil Science or Agricultural Extension or Agricultural Economics or Agriculture Botany or; Master’s Degree in Botany or Forestry or Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering from a recognized University or Institute.
Experience: Possessing five years experience in the field of soil and water conservation or soil health management or rainfed or integrated farming and soil survey or problem soil reclamation and project formulation including agro-forestry projects in Central or State Government Department or Union Territory Administration or recognized research institution or Agricultural University or Public Sector undertaking or Semi-Government or Autonomous or Statutory Organization.
Desirable: Doctorate Degree in any of the disciplines mentioned under essential qualification or Master’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering from a recognized University or Institution.
Assistant Ore Dressing Officer –
Essential Qualifications: Masters Degree in Ore Dressing or Mineral Processing or Geology or Physics or Chemistry from recognized University or Institute OR Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology degree in Mineral Engineering or Chemical Engineering or Metallurgy from recognized University or Institute.
Experience: Three years experience in conducting mineral beneficiation or mineral characterization for beneficiation of various ores and minerals from a recognized laboratory or beneficiation plant.
Desirable: Doctorate Degree in Ore Dressing or Geology or Mineral Processing or Physics or Chemistry from recognized University or Institute OR Master of Technology in Mineral Engineering or Chemical Engineering or Metallurgy from recognized University or Institute
Assistant Mineral Economist –
Essential Qualifications: Masters Degree in Applied Geology or Geology or Economics or Bachelors Degree in Mining Engineering from a recognized University or Institute.
Experience: Three years experience in the field of mineral economics, namely conducting demand supply studies, market survey of minerals, mineral inventory, mineral legislation, world mineral intelligence, investigation of economic aspect of mineral resources and production and consumption or utilization of minerals, analysis and dissemination of information.
Assistant Mining Engineer –
Essential Qualifications: Bachelor of Engineering or Technology in Mining Engineering from a recognized University or Institution.
Experience: Two years’ experience in core Mining activity in:- (a) Supervisory position in Metalliferous (Non-coal) mines which includes the period as graduate or management or Junior Trainee Engineer, or (b) Government Department dealing with mines and minerals in Level 6 in the pay matrix (Rs 35400-112400) or above.
Desirable: Master of Engineering or Master of Technology in Mining Engineering from a recognized University or Institution.
Youth Officer –
Essential Qualifications Master’s Degree from a recognized University; and Two years’ experience in organizing programmes relating to youth work or youth welfare including National Cadet Corps or National Service Scheme or National Service Volunteers Scheme or sports or cultural and educational activities including camping; OR Degree of a recognized University; and Four years’ experience in organizing programme relating to youth work or youth welfare including National Cadet Corps or National Service Scheme or National Service Volunteers Scheme or sports or cultural and educational activities including camping.
Salary: The salary for each post will be as per the 7th Pay Commission rules. The pay scale for the Regional Director post is Level-12, and for the Assistant Commissioner, Assistant Ore Dressing Officer, Assistant Mineral Economist, Assistant Mining Engineer, and Youth Officer posts is Level-10.
Selection Process: The selection process for the UPSC Assistant Mining Engineer Recruitment 2023 will be based on a written examination and an interview. The written examination will consist of objective-type questions, and candidates who qualify in the written examination will be called for an interview. The final selection will be based on the candidate’s performance in the written examination and the interview.
