Eligibility Criteria: Candidates who have completed their medical degree from a recognized university are eligible to apply for UPSC CMSE 2023. For admission to the examination a candidate should have passed the written and practical parts of the final M.B.B.S. Examination.The age limit for the candidates is between 21 and 32 years as on 01.08.2023.
Age Limit: A candidate for this examination must not have attained the age of 32 years as on 1st August, 2023 i.e. the candidate must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1991. However, for Medical Officers Grade in General Duty Medical Officers Sub cadre of Central Health Services, the upper age limit must not exceed 35 (thirty-five years) as on 1st August, 2023.
The Upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST; 3 years for OBC, 10 Years for Persons with Disabilities (15 years for SC/ST PWD’s & 13 years for OBC PWD’s) and for Ex-S as per Govt. of India rules. Candidates Relaxation in Upper Age limit will be provided as per Govt. Rules.
Selection Process: The selection process for UPSC CMSE 2023 will be based on a written examination followed by a personality test.

Salary: Selected candidates will be placed in various government departments at the post of Assistant Divisional Medical Officer in the Indian Railways, Assistant Medical Officer in Indian Ordnance Factories Health Services, Junior Scale Posts in Central Health Services, and General Duty Medical Officer in New Delhi Municipal Council. The salary for these posts ranges from Rs. 56,100/- to Rs. 1,77,500/- per month, depending on the post and location.
How to Apply: Candidates can apply for UPSC CMSE 2023 through the official website @ www.upsc.gov.in. The online application process will start from 19.04.2023 and will continue till 09.05.2023. Candidates are advised to read the instructions carefully before filling the application form. They must also upload all the necessary documents and pay the application fee before submitting the form.
Application Fee: Candidates (Except Female/SC/ST/PwBD candidates who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay of fee of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred only) either by remitting the money in any Branch of SBI by cash or by using net banking facility of any bank or by using Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card/UPI Payment.
Applicants who opt for “Pay by cash” mode should print the system generated Pay-in slip during Part-II registration and deposit the fee at the counter of SBI Branch on the next working day only. “Pay by cash” mode option will be deactivated at 23.59 hours of 08.05.2023 i.e. one day before the closing date; however, applicants who have generated their Pay-in-slip before it is de-activated may pay at the counter of SBI Branch during banking hours on the closing date. Such applicants who are unable to pay by cash on the closing date i.e. during banking hours to SBI Branch, for reason whatsoever, even if holding a valid Pay-in-slip, will have no other offline option but to opt for online Debit/Credit Card/UPI Payment or Internet Banking Payment mode on the closing date i.e. till 6.00 P.M. of 09.05.2023.
