UPSC Civil Services Examination 2023 1105 Vacancies : Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the notification for the Civil Service Examination (CSE) 2023 or Indian Administration Service Exam 2023 (IAS 2023). UPSC will fill up a total of 1105 UPSC vacancies which include 37 vacancies for Persons with Benchmark Disability Category, 15 Vacancies for Locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy and 10 Vacancies for multiple disabilities from amongst persons. Candidates who have graduated can submit their UPSC CSE Application Form on or before 21 Feb 2023 on UPSC Online Website www.upsc.gov.in. Applicants must register himself/herself first at One Time Registration (OTR), and then proceed for filling up the online application for the examination. Vacancy Details For UPSC Civil Services Examination 2023
The number of vacancies to be filled through the UPSC examination 2023 is expected to be approximately 1105. The Categorization of Vacancy is also given below,

The final number of vacancies may undergo change after getting a firm number of vacancies from Cadre Controlling Authorities. Reservations will be made for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes. Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, the Economically Weaker Sections and Persons with Benchmark Disability in respect of vacancies as may be fixed by the Government.

Eligibility Criteria For UPSC Civil Services Examination 2023

Educational Qualification For UPSC Exam 2023 : A candidate must possess an equivalent degree or hold a graduate degree from any of the Indian universities established by an act of the central or state legislature, or from one of the other educational institutions recognized as universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
Age limit For UPSC Exam 2023 : A candidate must have a minimum age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years.

Number of Attempts For UPSC CSE 2023
Each candidate who appears for the UPSC 2023 examination and is otherwise eligible to give the examination is liable to six (6) attempts to take the UPSC CSE. Candidates from the SC/ST/OBC and PwBD categories who are otherwise eligible, however, will be allowed a relaxation in the number of attempts. Such candidates may make the following number of attempts under the relaxation.

- The terms – GL for General, EWS for Economically Weaker Sections, SC for Scheduled Castes, ST for Scheduled Tribes, OBC for Other Backward Classes and PwBD for Persons with Benchmark Disability – are used for denoting the categories of candidates taking an attempt at the Examination.
- An attempt at a Preliminary Examination shall be deemed to be an attempt at the Civil Services Examination.
- If a candidate actually appears in any one paper in the Preliminary Examination, it will be deemed that the candidate has made an attempt at the Examination.
- Notwithstanding any subsequent disqualification/cancellation of candidature, the fact of appearance of the candidate at the Examination will count as an attempt.
Nationality Condition For UPSC 2023
- For the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and the Indian Police Service (IPS), a candidate must be a citizen of India.
- For other services, a candidate must be either:
a citizen of India, or
a subject of Nepal, or
a subject of Bhutan, or
a Tibetan refugee who entered India prior to January 1, 1962, with the purpose to settle there permanently, or
a person of Indian origin who moved to India with the purpose of residing there permanently, primarily from Vietnam, Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or the East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia.
Application Fee For UPSC Civil Services Examination 2023
Candidates must pay a fee of Rs. 100/- (Rupees One Hundred Only) either by remitting the money to any State Bank of India (SBI) branch, by using a Visa, Master card, or RuPay credit or debit card, or by using SBI Internet Banking. All Female/SC/ST/Persons with benchmark disabilities candidates are exempted from paying a fee. However, OBC/EWS candidates are not eligible for any fee exemptions and must pay the entire amount of the specified fee.

The Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective Type) will be conducted for the candidates who would apply for the exam. Those who clear the UPSC CSE Preliminary Exam will be called for the Civil Services (Main) Examination for the selection of candidates for the various Services and posts. UPSC interview is the last round for the selection meant to test the applicant’s critical thinking.
Preliminary Exam For UPSC 2023 : A prelims examination is an objective type (multiple choice questions) paper whose marks are not counted for final merit. This stage includes two General studies papers i.e., GS Paper 1 (Subject specific) and GS Paper 2 (CSAT). CSAT is just a qualifying paper (minimum 33% score required). There is a negative marking i.e., one-third (0.33) of the marks assigned to the question are deducted for every wrong answer for both Paper 1 and Paper 2.

How to Apply For UPSC Civil Services Examination 2023
Step 1 : Visit the official website of UPSC www.upsc.gov.in
Step 2 : Download the notification and verify the eligibility and last date to apply.
Step 3 : Register on OTR (One Time Registration) portal by Clicking the New Registration button.
Step 4 : After registration, login using Email ID/ Mobile Number/ OTR ID to verify the already registered OTR application.
Step 5 : Go to the Latest Notification tab in the OTR application and apply for the UPSC Examination 2023.
Step 6 : Fill all the required details correctly and pay the application fee if required.
Step 7 : Take a printed copy of the application for future reference.
