Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification (As on 17.08.2024) : Stenographer Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’ – 12th standard Pass
Age Limit: (As on 01.08.2024)
- Stenographer Grade ‘C’ – 18 to 30 years as on 01.08.2024, i.e., candidates born not before 02.08.1994 and not later than 01.08.2006 are eligible to apply.
- Stenographer Grade ‘D’ – 18 to 27 years as on 01.08.2024, i.e., Candidates born not before 02.08.1997 and not later than 01.08.2006 are eligible to apply.
Relaxation of Upper age limit:
- For SC/ ST Candidates: 5 years
- For OBC Candidates: 3 years
- For PwBD (Gen/ EWS) Candidates: 10 years
- For PwBD (SC/ ST) Candidates: 15 years
- For PwBD (OBC) Candidates: 13 years
- For Ex-Servicemen Candidates: As per Govt. Policy
Selection Process: The selection process will consist of two stages:
Computer Based Examination
Skill Test in Stenography & Certificate Verification
Computer-Based Examination (CBE): The CBE will be conducted online and will consist of Objective Type Multiple Choice questions.
The question paper will be divided into three parts: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, English Language and Comprehension.
The exam will have a total of 200 questions carrying one mark each, and the duration of the exam will be 2 hours.
There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
Skill Test in Stenography: Candidates who qualify in the CBE will be called for the Skill Test. The Skill Test will be of qualifying nature. Candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English or Hindi (as opted by the candidates). The speed required for Stenographer Grade ‘C’ is 100 words per minute and for Stenographer Grade ‘D’ is 80 words per minute.
The transcription time is as follows:
For Stenographer Grade ‘C’: 50 minutes (English) or 65 minutes (Hindi)
For Stenographer Grade ‘D’: 40 minutes (English) or 55 minutes (Hindi)

How to Apply: Eligible and interested Applicants are required to visit SSC website www.ssc.gov.in and submit the application online. Online Registration shall commence at 26.07.2024 and will close at 17.08.2024.
