Eligibility Criteria: Candidates applying for the Southern Railway Sports Person Posts must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
Educational Qualification:
Level 1 : 10th Pass or ITI or equivalent or NAC granted by NCVT.
Level 2 & 3 Posts: Candidates must have passed the 12th (10+2) examination from a recognized board or its equivalent.
Level 4 & 5 Posts: Candidates must possess a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
Sports Achievements: Candidates should have represented:
- The country in any International competition, either in senior or junior category.
- State or Union Territories in National Competitions conducted by the recognized National Sports Federation.
- A university in the Inter-University competition.
- A school in National-level school games.
- Candidates should have earned a medal or position in a recognized competition at the national or international level.
Age Limit: Minimum Age: 18 years, Maximum Age: 25 years (As of 01.01.2024). No relaxation in upper age limit for any category.
Salary Structure: The selected candidates will receive a salary based on the Level of the post as per the 7th Pay Commission. The detailed pay scale is as follows:
Level 2/3: Rs. 19,900 – Rs. 63,200 per month
Level 4: Rs. 25,500 – Rs. 81,100 per month
Level 5: Rs. 29,200 – Rs. 92,300 per month
Along with the basic pay, candidates will also be entitled to allowances such as DA, HRA, TA, and other benefits as per Railway rules.
Selection Process: The selection of candidates for the Southern Railway Sports Person Posts will be based on the following stages:
Trial and Performance Assessment: Candidates will be called for sports trials based on their achievements and merit. Their performance during the trials will be assessed by a committee.
Document Verification: After clearing the sports trials, candidates will be shortlisted for document verification.
During this process, candidates must produce original documents such as educational certificates, sports achievements, age proof, and identity proof.
Medical Examination: Candidates will have to undergo a medical examination to ensure they are fit for the job as per Southern Railway standards.
