Eligibility Criteria
Nationality : Applicants must be citizens of India.
Age Limit:
Flying Branch: 20 to 24 years as of 01 January 2026 (Born between 02 January 2002 and 01 January 2006). Upper age limit for Applicants holding valid and Current Commercial Pilot License (CPL) issued by DGCA (India) Is relaxable upto 26 year i.e. born between (both dates Inclusive) 02 Jan 2000 to 01 Jan 2006.
Ground Duty (Technical/ Non-Technical) Branches 20 – 26 years, born between (both dates inclusive) 02 Jan 2000 to 01 Jan 2006.
Educational Qualification
Flying Branch: A minimum of 50% marks in each of Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level. Graduation with at least 60% marks or equivalent OR BE/B.Tech with 60% marks OR equivalent.
Ground Duty (Technical Branch): Aeronautical Engineering (Electronics): 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics and a minimum of 4 years of degree in Engineering/Technology. Aeronautical Engineering (Mechanical): Degree in Engineering or Technology specializing in Aeronautical or Mechanical fields.
Ground Duty (Non-Technical Branch): Administration/Logistics: Graduate with 60% marks or equivalent. Accounts: B.Com degree with a minimum of 60% marks.
NCC Special Entry (Flying): NCC Air Wing Senior Division ‘C’ certificate and other eligibility as per Flying Branch.
Salary Details: The pay structure for IAF officers includes:
Flying Officer Rank (Level 10):

- Pay Scale: ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500
- Military Service Pay (MSP): ₹15,500
- Other allowances such as Transport, Uniform, and Field Area allowances as applicable.
Selection Process
Online AFCAT Examination: Candidates will take the AFCAT written test. It will consist of:
General Awareness
Verbal Ability in English
Numerical Ability and Reasoning
Military Aptitude
Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT): Applicable for Technical Branch candidates.
AFSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates from the AFCAT exam will be called for the Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) Interview. Consists of psychological tests, group tasks, and personal interviews.
Medical Examination: Candidates must clear the medical fitness test as per IAF standards.
Final Merit List: Based on the performance in all stages, the final selection will be made.
