Nationality : Candidates must be:

  • A citizen of India, or
  • A subject of Nepal, or
  • A subject of Bhutan, or
  • A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d), and (e) shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Educational Qualifications (As on 21.08.2024) : The educational qualifications vary for different specialist officer posts. Here are the details:

IT Officer (Scale I) – a) 4 year Engineering/ Technology Degree in Computer Science/ Computer Applications/ Electronics & Telecommunications/ IT/ Electronics/ Electronics & Communication/ Electronics & Instrumentation OR b) Post Graduate Degree in Electronics/ Electronics & Tele Communication/ Electronics & Communication/ Electronics & Instrumentation/ IT/ Computer Science/ Computer Applications OR Graduate having passed DOEACC ‘B’ level
2. Agricultural Field Officer (Scale I) – 4 year Degree (graduation) in Animal Husbandry/ Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Veterinary Science/ Fishery Science/Dairy Science/ Pisciculture/ Agri. Marketing & Cooperation/ Co-operation & Banking/ Forestry/ AgroForestry/ Agricultural Biotechnology/ B.Tech Biotechnology Agriculture Business Management/ / Food Science/ Food Technology/ Agricultural Engineering/ Dairy Technology/ Sericulture / Fisheries Engineering

Age Limit : Minimum Age: 20 years, Maximum Age: 30 years, Age relaxation is applicable as per government norms for reserved categories.

Relaxation of Upper age limit:

For SC/ ST Candidates: 5 years
For OBC Candidates: 3 years
For PwBD (Gen/ EWS) Candidates: 10 years
For PwBD (SC/ ST) Candidates: 15 years
For PwBD (OBC) Candidates: 13 years

Selection Process : The selection process for IBPS SO Recruitment 2024 involves three stages:

Preliminary Examination

Main Examination 

Interview

Preliminary Examination: An online objective test consisting of Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Language.

Main Examination: Candidates who qualify in the prelims will appear for the main examination, which will be specific to the post applied for.

Interview: Shortlisted candidates from the main examination will be called for an interview. The final selection will be based on the combined performance in the main exam and interview.
