Eligibility Criteria : Candidates must ensure that they meet the required eligibility criteria before applying.
Educational Qualification:
Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA):

- Must have passed 10+2 (Intermediate) or equivalent from a recognized board.
- Proficiency in computer typing speed and working knowledge of computers.
- Typing speed:
- English: 35 words per minute (wpm) OR
- Hindi: 30 words per minute (wpm)
Junior Stenographer (JST):
-
- Must have passed 10+2 (Intermediate) or equivalent from a recognized board.
- Shorthand speed:
- English: 80 words per minute (wpm) OR
- Hindi: 80 words per minute (wpm)
Age Limit (as of 21.04.2025):
Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA): Maximum 28 years
Junior Stenographer (JST): Maximum 27 years
Age relaxation:

- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC (NCL): 3 years
- PWD: 10 years
- Other categories as per CSIR norms

Selection Process : The selection process consists of the following stages:
Written Examination: Objective-type test covering General Awareness, Reasoning, English Language, and Quantitative Aptitude. Negative marking applicable.
Skill Test (Typing/Shorthand): Candidates who qualify the written exam will be called for typing test (JSA) / shorthand test (JST).
Document Verification & Final Merit List: Based on performance in the written test and skill test, the final merit list will be prepared.
