Eligibility Criteria: Candidates who wish to apply for the Psychiatric Social Worker and Counselor/Psychologist positions must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Educational Qualification
Counsellor / Psychologist – M.A. or M.Sc., in Psychology or Applied Psychology or Counselling Psychology or Clinical Psychology or Five year integrated MSc Programme in clinical psychology
Psychiatric Social worker – M.A. Social Work (Medical / Psychiatry) or MSW (Medical / Psychiatry)
Age Limit: The age limit for applicants is generally between 21 to 35 years. However, age relaxations may apply for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per government norms.
Salary Details: The selected candidates will receive a competitive salary as per the Chennai City Urban Health Mission’s norms:
- Psychiatric Social Worker: Pay scale ranging from INR 35,000 to INR 45,000 per month.
- Counselor/Psychologist: Pay scale ranging from INR 25,000 to INR 35,000 per month.
Selection Process: The selection process for these posts will consist of the following stages:
Screening of Applications: Initial shortlisting based on eligibility criteria and relevant experience.
Written Examination (if applicable): A test to assess the candidates’ knowledge and expertise in their respective fields.
Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview, where their suitability for the role will be evaluated.
