Eligibility Criteria: Candidates interested in the Assistant Programmer position must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
Educational Qualification (As on 28.11.2024) : (A) Masters Degree in Computer Science (CS) or Computer Application or Master of Technology (with specialisation in Computer Application) or Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Computer Engineering or Computer science (CS) or Computer Technology from a recognised University or Institute.
OR (B) (i) Bachelor degree in Computer Science (CS) or Computer Application or Electronics or Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) from a recognised University; and (ii) Minimum 02 years experience in electronic data processing work including experience of actual programming from a recognised institute or from Offices of Central / State Government or Autonomous or Union Territories or Universities or Statutory organization or public sector undertakings or Recognized Research Institute.
OR (C) (i) A Level diploma under Department of Electronic Accredited Computer courses programme or Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application offered under University Programme: and
(ii) Minimum 03 years experience of electronic data processing work including experience of actual programming from a recognized institute or from Offices of Central / State Government or Autonomous or Union Territories or Universities or Statutory organization or public sector undertakings or Recognized Research Institute.
Desirable: Knowledge of programming in C Plus, C, Or Visual C + + and in Oracle, Relation Data Base Management System to Experience on RISC based Computer Systems under UNIX or UNIX like Operating Systems or Windows environment or WINDOWS Networking.
Age Limit: (As on 28.11.2024) : Assistant Programmer – 30 years

Salary and Pay Scale: The selected candidates for the position of Assistant Programmer in the CBI will be eligible for a competitive pay scale:
- Pay Scale: Level 7 as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) Pay Matrix.
- Approximate Monthly Salary: Ranges from INR 44,900 to INR 1,42,400, including allowances as per government norms.
Selection Process: The selection process for the Assistant Programmer posts involves the following stages:
Written Examination: Candidates will need to appear for a written exam focused on technical knowledge, programming, and analytical skills. The syllabus includes:
