- Three stages of Group 1 exam, 1. Preliminary, 2. Mains, and 3. Interview and record
- As per previous year analysis, The cutoff of group 1 prelims exam is 120 to 130 questions out of 200 questions.
- It is a Degree standard exam, But maximum questions asked from 6th to 12th samachcheer kalvi books (Tamil nadu state board books)
- Out of 200 questions, 80 questions asked from current affairs (34 approximately)+ maths aptitude section (46 approximately).
- Remaining 120 questions asked from Samacheer kalvi books (6th to 12th) – (1.Science -Physics, chemistry, Biology. 2. Social Science – History, Political science, Economics, commerce, statistics and Geography 3. Computer science)
- In that political science questions will be maximum asked from Laxmikanth book. And also a chance to ask from out of samacheer kalvi books.
- But other sections like science and remaining sections will be asked from samachcheer books.
