OTET Recruitment 2016
Now a day’s its compulsory for the B.ed professionals who wish to work as a teacher in the state of Orissa for the primary school (From class I to Class V) and Secondary school (From class VI to VIII).OTET examination is mandatory for both schools run by government and management board. The selection process of this recruitment consist of two stages. Written examination and a personal Interview. Candidates who got selected in the written examination with required cut off marks only will be called for the personal Interview process. So candidates have to perform the written examination with care. The Validity of the OTET exam score card is for 7 years. But candidates can also write exams to improve their scores. There is no restriction on number of attempts of the candidates.
OTET Eligibility Criteria
Before applying candidates have to check the educational qualification which should match with the requirement. If any other qualified candidates applied then they will be rejected in any process of the recruitment. Paper I is for the candidates who wish to work with primary school level and Paper II for the candidates who wish to work as secondary school teacher. Candidates can also apply for both papers get qualified for teaching from Class I to VIII. Candidates who pursuing final year of any teacher education courses may also apply.
Primary school Category (Paper- I)
Candidates have to complete any one of the following to apply for the category Paper I post.
- Higher Secondary education with at least 50% marks and 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education.
- 2 years Diploma in Education (Special Education) approved by RCI.
- Graduation with 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education/ Diploma(special Education)
Secondary School Category (Paper-II)
Candidates with any one of the following qualification may apply for the category Paper II post.
- Graduation with at least 50% marks with 1 year Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed.)/1 year B.Ed. (Special Education) approved by RCI
- Higher Secondary with at least 50% marks and 4 years B.A. Ed./ B.Sc. Ed.( integrated course).
Provided that relaxation of 5% in qualifying marks in +2 or at the graduation level, as the case may be; shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/ SEBC category.
Age Limit: Candidates must completed 21 years while appearing for examination.
Application Fees: As each year 15 lakhs students applying for this examination, Candidates have to pay Rs 350/- for all category of reservation norms.
OTET Syllabus for Written Examination 2016
Syllabus is the content of the subjects which covers the examination topics .As syllabus is more important for an examination preparation. Before preparing, Every candidates have to check the syllabus so that they can plan study timings accordingly. Total duration of examination is two hours and 30 minutes. Questions will be of Multi Choice. Answers should be filled in OMR sheets. Question paper can be in two languages( Odia, English). Out of this candidate can choose one language.
For the Paper I category , there are five sections and each section carries 30 marks with 30 questions. Language I (any one of Odia, Hindi, Bengali, Urdu or Telugu),Language II(English Only), Mathematics, Environment Studies and Child development Pedology.
For the Paper II Category, there are three sections in compulsory area each carry 30 questions with 30 marks. They are, Child development and pedology, Language I(May be Odia/Hindi/Bengali/Urdu/Telugu), Language II (English ) and Optional category candidates should either choose Mathematical & Science(30 questions from mathematics and 30 from science) or Social Studies (30 questions from history and political science and 30 from geography).For each section for both paper I&II other than child development and Pedology out of 30 questions,20 questions from content and 10 questions from Pedology.
How to Apply for OTET
- Interested and eligible candidates should apply in their official website on or before end date of application.
- Read the Advertisement carefully and be ready with the scan copies of the documents and Photograph required for the online application.
- Then click on “Register Online” & fill up the Online Application Form with your details.
- Please verify all the information’s entered on the form before submit. As the form once submitted cannot be altered and then click on Submit button.
- After the submission of application, download the challan copy generated.
- After the payment of the application fees through Bank Challan copy,Application procedure will get complete.
- Please be aware to pay the application fees before the deadline.
- Please save the application number and password generated and also copy of application form in your computer for future references.
