Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for the NLC Industrial Trainee posts, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Educational Qualification:
- Industrial Trainee [Specialised Mining Equipment (SME) Operations] – Not less than Full time Diploma in Engineering course of minimum 3 years duration.*
- Industrial Trainee (Mines & Mines Support Services) – ITI – Fitter or Turner or Electrician or Welding or MMV or Diesel Mechanic or Tractor Mechanic or Civil or Foundry or Cable Jointing Trades with NAC Certification.
Age Limit (As on 01.06.2023) :
- Industrial Trainee [Specialised Mining Equipment (SME) Operations] – UR/EWS – 37 Years OBC(NCL) – 40 Years SC/ST – 42 Years
- Industrial Trainee (Mines & Mines Support Services) – UR/EWS – 37 Years OBC(NCL) – 40 Years SC/ST – 42 Years
- Candidates Relaxation in Upper Age limit will be provided as per Govt. Rules.
Salary and Benefits: Selected candidates will be offered an attractive stipend during the training period as per the rules and regulations of NLC. The exact details of the stipend will be mentioned in the official notification.

Selection Process: The selection process for NLC Industrial Trainee recruitment involves the following stages:
- Selection of applicants for training shall be through written test.
- Final selection will be in the order of merit based on the overall total score of marks obtained in selection by the candidates, with due reservation for SC / ST / OBC-NCL / EWS categories.
- In case of tie at cut-off level, (i.e.) more than one candidate scoring same marks (out of 100) at cut-off level, such cases will be resolved by applying the following criteria, one after another, till the tie is resolved:
– Date of Birth of the candidates, senior most candidate(s) by age will be placed higher;
– Alphabetical order of first name of the candidates.
