The National Institute of Epidemiology (NIE) is recruiting eligible candidates for the position of Project Technical Assistant (Statistics), Senior Project Research Fellow, Project Scientist – B (Medical), Project Scientist – B (Non – Medical) (CRC Data management), Project Technical Officer (Lab), Semi-Skilled Worker (SSW) (Erstwhile MTS) Posts. Educational Qualification :
1.Project Technical Assistant (Statistics) :
• Graduate in Statistics / Biostatistics / Health data Sciences from recognized university with Three years work Experience from a recognized institution. OR Masters degree in Statistics / Biostatistics / Health data Sciences/Epidemiology/ Public Health.
Desirable Qualification and Experience :
• Post Graduate Degree in Statistics / Biostatics / Data Sciences/ Public Health / Epidemiology.
• Working knowledge in the area of disease surveillance.
• Good expertise data management, analysis, interpretation and report writing
• Working Experience in statistical software’s including SPSS/ Stata / R.
• Working knowledge of MS Office.
2. Senior Project Research Fellow :
• M.Sc in Microbiology, Virology, Medical Laboratory Technology with two years research experience.
Desirable Qualification and Experience :
• Hands-on experience in Molecular / Virology / serologic techniques Viz. PCR, qPCR, Bioinformatics, ELISA, CLIA etc.,
• Knowledge of Computer Applications.
• Experience should be supported by experience certificates / testimonials / publications etc., from public sector / private-multispecialty hospitals / accredited diagnostic laboratories Medical research institutes / university.
3. Project Scientist – B (Medical) :
• MBBS Degree with one year Research/Teaching experience. OR MD in PSM/Clinical Subjects from a recognized University after MBBS.
Desirable Qualification and Experience:
• MPH
• Experience in working in community-based health research.
• Training in spirometry testing.
• Working knowledge in Computers.
• Able to speak in Tamil.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
4. Project Scientist – B (Non – Medical) (CRC Data management) :
• 1st class Master’s degree in Statistics / Biostatistics from a recognized University with two years’ experience in Health research. (OR) 2nd class Master’s Degree in Statistics/ Biostatistics with Ph.D. from a recognized university.
Desirable Qualification and Experience:
• Trained in GCP and/or GDMP
• -Well experienced in SPSS/STATA/R and other statistical packages.
• Experience in managing large datasets of biomedical research and clinical trials.
• Knowledge of ODK based data capture tools and developing questionnaire.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Willingness to travel extensively.
• Publication in peer-reviewed journals.
5. Project Technical Officer (Lab) :
• Graduate in Microbiology / Virology / Medical Lab Technology from a recognized university with 5 years working experience from a recognized Research Institution. (OR) Master’s degree in Microbiology / Virology / Medical Lab Technology from a recognized university.
Desirable qualification :
• Experience in preparing Laboratory SOPs related to blood collection, processing, testing, storage, and transportation.
• Experience in handling biological samples, processing, testing and analysis.
• Any Survey / Field experience in quality assurance of biological sample collection and testing.
6. Semi-Skilled Worker (SSW) (Erstwhile MTS) :
• 10th Pass/ High school or equivalent.
Desirable Qualification :
• Good written and oral communication skills in English.
• Good computer knowledge.
• Experience in data management.
• Good documentation skills.
