The Maharashtra Government of Water Resource department came up with new updates on 1256 vacancies for Junior Engineer. Earlier, the government announced the last date could be 3rd march 2016. But now, the board has extended the date till 07.08.2016. The fresh notification starts from 21st July 2016. The state of Maharashtra come into existence in the year 1960 after bifurcation of old Bombay State into Maharashtra and Gujarat. In the year 1960 the Public Works Department was divided into Irrigation Department and Building and Communication Department. Since 26 October 2004 Irrigation Department is known as Water Resources Department. Water Resources Department has a glorious history of Irrigation over last the 150 years. The primary philosophy of the water sector reforms is the adoption of an ‘integrated multi-sector approach’ with regards to the river basin as a unit of development.
The principle of stakeholder and user participation in various aspects of water resources development and management viz, determination of entitlements, fixation of water charges and preparation of the State Water Plan, is being practised while implementing the reforms. The MMISF Act empowers WUAs to primarily carry out functions such as preparing preliminary irrigation programme, allocation and enforcement of entitlement to its members, and collection of water charges in their area of operation with a participatory approach. The MWRRA establishes a regulatory mechanism for overseeing the relationship between the service provider and water user entities and also within a water user entity, in terms of determination, enforcement and dispute resolution of entitlements and fixation of water charges.
Eligibility
The common educational qualification required for the Junior Engineer post is diploma in civil engineering with good aggregate of minimum 50 % is required from reputed and recognized board of education. The age criteria must be not less than 18 years and not more than 33 years. The age relaxation will be applicable as per norms.This recruitment comes under group D of 1256 vacancies.
Recruitment Process
The selection process consists of written exam and Interview. The pay scale will be Rs.9300 to Rs.34800 plus grade scale of Rs.4300. The application fee to be paid for the online recruitment is Rs.700 for Unreserved candidates and Rs. 350 for reserved candidates such as SC or ST or PWD.
Exam Pattern
The Exam Pattern for written exam consists of two papers such as Paper I and Paper II. The Paper I has Marathi, Arithmetic, General Intelligence, English and GK for 80 Marks ( 40×2) and Paper II has Civil Engineering and structure for 120 Marks. Therefore, the total marks is 200 for time duration of two hours.
