Dibrugarh University, the easternmost University of India was set up in 1965 under the provisions of the Dibrugarh University Act, 1965 enacted by the Assam Legislative Assembly. It is a teaching-cum-affiliating University with limited residential facilities. The University is situated at Rajabheta, five kilometres to the south of the premier town of Dibrugarh in the northeast India. Dibrugarh, which is one of the commercial and industrial hubs of the northeastern region, also occupies a unique place in the field of Art, Literature and Culture. Dibrugarh district known internationally as a rich tea producing district is also known for its rich reserve of minerals like coal, oil and natural gas. Its diverse flora and fauna makes it an exciting region from the point of view of environment and ecology. The various tribes which inhabits this district presents a polychromatic ethnic mosaic and makes it a very attractive destination for researchers from all over the globe. The Dibrugarh University Campus is well connected by roads, rails, air and waterways. The National Highway No.37 passes through the University Campus. The territorial jurisdiction of Dibrugarh University covers seven districts of Upper Assam, viz, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Sivasagar, Jorhat, Golaghat, Dhemaji and Lakhimpur. The University Campus extends over an area of more than 500 acres. The University is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an institutional score of 71% (B grade). The Re-accreditation has been done in March 2009. Dibrugarh University is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and recognised by all Universities in India and abroad on reciprocal basis.
DU Courses Offered
The University through the various teaching Departments, Centres for Studies in its campus and the affiliated colleges scattered over the seven districts is imparting higher education in the various branches of learning in Arts, Commerce, Engineering, Medical, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Law, Science & Technology, Computer Sciences, Management, Sports and Teacher Training. The University campus hosts 17 Teaching Departments,18 Centres for Studies and one Institute of Engineering and Technolgy (DUIET) organized under five different Schools of Studies leading to the M.A., M.Sc., M.Tech, M.Com., M.B.A., M.Pharm., M.Ed., M.L.I.Sc., MCA, Integrated M. Sc. in Physics, B.Ed., B. Pharm., B.B.A., B. Tech., 5-Year B.A. LL.B. (Hons),B.C.A.,B. P. Ed. B.L.I.Sc., M. Phil and Ph D. degrees. Some of these Departments/ Centres also conduct Diploma Courses like the two year Diploma Course in Tai-Language, Post Graduate Diploma in – Computer Application (PGDCA), Statistical Techniques and Computation (PGDSTC), Tea Technology and Plantation Management (PGDTTPM), Tourism Management (PGDTM), Journalism and Mass Communication (PGDJMC)etc. The University has around 200 affiliated and permitted colleges and institutes to achieve its goal of dissemination of knowledge and generation of human resource.
DU Results
The Dibrugarh University results yet to release in few hours or days. The university exams will be conducted in semester pattern such that like Odd and even semester. These exams will be conducted in the month of November or December and April or May of every year. The DU results which is going to be release soon, was earlier held in the month of April or May 2016. Thus the DU UG results of Even Semester [i.e. 2nd, 4th & 6th Semesters] will be updated shortly. By giving your credentials, one can check their results.
Mark sheet
In early days, the university used to release the semester results through notice board, whereas all candidates can check their results with the provided roll number individually to them. But as technology improves day by day, the DU University also followed the online process to declare the results. Now it’s been easy to check their results through online. This printed mark sheet from online will not be final. If any doubts in your marks, you can contact the university helpline directly in case of any revaluation or re-totalling etc. The University will always issue the official and formal certificated mark sheet of the university for each and every semester.
