About CSIR

CSIR is also well known as Council of Scientific and Industrial Research which was established in the year 1942. It is an individual body and the India’s largest research and development organisation with total of 37 laboratories and 39 field stations or extension centres spread across the nation and within a collective staff of around 17000. Although CSIR is the mostly funded by the ministry of science and the technology, it operates as a self body registered under the registration of the societies Act of 1860. The research and development activities of the CSIR that includes various fields like aerospace engineering, Life sciences, metallurgy, food, petroleum, leather, chemicals, Structural engineering, ocean sciences, mining and environment.

In the month of December 2006 director general raghunath A. mashelkar who retired the following which M. K. bhan took over the post but he was relieved in the month of March 2007. In late year 2007 the Minister of the science and technology Kapil Sibal admitted, in a question hour session of the Parliament that CSIR has developed around 1376 technologies and knowledge base during the last decade of the 20th century. The CSIR always conducts the NET exam for Junior research Fellowship JRF and Lectureship annually two times i.e December and June Month.

NET Exam Paper

As the competition is tough, the candidates always making their best to crack the written exam. The Exam conducted in two session such as Morning, 9 am to 12 pm and Evening session, 2pm to 5pm. The Exam paper consists of three parts such as Reasoning, and arithmetic section in Part A, General Knowledge in Part B and Part C consists of Science and Research questions. The Exam time is 3 hours and total marks is said to be 300 marks. Thus the authority conducted the exam successfully, the candidates can check their results at their official website.

The cut off marks is decided by the authority according to total vacancies, number of candidates appeared, performance of the contenders, Etc. Like wise, the category also plays important role. Check your cut off marks given by Officials as below.
