ANDHRA PRADESH STATE ELIGIBILITY TEST (APSAT) 2015-2016 NOTIFICATION is update here. Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility test (AP SAT) is a state level examination consider as the requirement for PG graduates who wish to apply for the posts of lecturers and assistant professors in different colleges, universities and institute of higher learning in the state of Andhra Pradesh. This test was conducted every year by Osmania university, hydrabad for the PG graduates or students who are in their final semester. PhD students can also apply. thus eligible candidates can apply online on or before 26th July 2016. More details are available at their official website www.apset.org.
Eligibility Criteria for APSET 2016
Aspirants who have completed or pursuing PG or PhD in related subjects of PG with 55 percent of marks for OC/BC category and 50 percent of marks for SC/ST/physically handicapped category are eligible for the exam. For PhD students whose master level examination completed should have relaxation of 5 percent of marks from above criteria. Others need not to apply for the above test.
Applicants have to appear for SET in the subject of their Post-Graduation only. In case the subject of a Applicant is not included in the list of SET subjects, the Applicant may appear for UGC-NET /UGC-CSIR NET which is held twice a year. There is no upper age limit for this examination. The selection process for APSET is done through two stages. Applicants have to appear for the written exam and those who cleared will attend the interview. AP SAT certificate is life time validity certificate. Once cleared the examination aspirants need not to appear for each year.
Registration Fee
The application/registration fee for AP SET is different for all categories. The OBC category candidates have to pay 500/- and ST/SC/PH category candidates have to pay 250/- and other category candidates have to pay 700/- as application fee. Candidates will be able to pay the application fee through SBH bank Challan. Candidates who apply late have to pay the late registration fee along with the application fee.
Exemption (Eligibility for Lectureship)
AP-SET shall remain the minimum eligibility condition for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professors in universities/ colleges/institutions. However, the candidates, who have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of AP.SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in universities/ colleges/ institutions.
For AP- SET Candidates: Candidates who have cleared the State Eligibility Test (AP-SET) accredited by UGC for eligibility for Lectureship held prior to 1st June 2002, are exempted from appearing in NET, being eligible to apply for Lectureship anywhere in India. For AP- SET held from 1st June 2002 onwards, the qualified candidates are eligible to apply for the post of Lecturer only in the universities/ colleges belonging to the state from where they have cleared their AP-SET.
How to Apply
Eligible candidates will be able to apply on the official website www.apset.org . AP SET Application Form is available on the official website from 5th July 2016. Candidates have to log on to the official website and then click on online Application form. Then register for AP SET 2016. Before apply online for APSET registration, make sure that you have the following ready with you
- a) Scanned copy of your passport sized photograph (pp) in JPEG (.jpeg) format of less than 30 KB.
- b) Scanned copy of your signature in JPEG (.jpeg) format of less than 10 KB.
Each aspirants will get a individual registration ID and password. After successful submission of registration ID and password enter the required details. Please recheck the details you have entered before submission. Applicants should mention their social status other than general category (BC / SC / ST / PH / VH) in the application form. After final submission Download bank challan form from AP-SET website and deposit application fee in any branch of State Bank of Hyderabad along with bank charges (commission) of Rs 20/- .Two days after payment of application fee at State Bank Of Hyderabad ,enter transaction details to complete registration procedure. After online submission ,please take a printout of application form in A4 size paper. Affix recent identical passport size photograph in the space indicated in the form and sign across the photograph.
After completion of the above procedures the application form along with the photocopies of the certificates with the attestation of the Head of University Department/Principal of Colleges/Gazetted Officer.( BC/SC/ST/PH/VH candidates must enclose the attested copy of the certificate for the same) should sent in person or through registered post/speed post/by courier to the below address.
In case any ineligibility or wrong information mentioned in application is detected by the Agency at any stage, their candidature will be cancelled and they shall be liable for legal action.

APSET 2016 Exam Pattern
APSET exam will be conducted in objective mode. The candidates will have to mark their response for each question on the computer coded optical mark reader (OMR) answer sheet provided along with the test booklet. The test will consist of three papers. All the three papers will consist of multiple choice questions and will be held on the day of examination in two separate sessions as under:
First Session: Paper I – 60 out of which 50 questions are to be attempted : 50 x 2=100 marks (09.30 am to 10.45 am) [ 01 hour] Paper II -50 questions all of which are compulsory: 50 x 2=100 marks (10.45 am to 12.00 noon) [ 01 hour].If more than 50 questions are answered then first 50 questions will be evaluated.
Second Session: Paper III – 75 questions all of which are compulsory: 75 x 2= 150 marks (01.30 pm to 04.00 pm) [02 hours]
Paper-I: General paper on Teaching and Aptitude: This paper will be of general nature and intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of aspirants. The sections of the papers include reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness .
Paper-II: Subject Paper :This paper consists of multiple- choice questions based on the subject selected by the candidates .
Paper-III: Subject Paper (in depth questions): This paper consists of 75 multiple choice questions based on the syllabus of the subject selected by the candidates which is compulsory. Paper-III of all the subjects covers all the specializations of that subject in which SET is conducted. candidate who does not appear for Paper-I and Paper-II will not be permitted for Paper-III.
There will be No negative Marking.
