By the Indian High Courts Act passed by British Parliament in 1861, provision was made, not only for the replacement of the Supreme Courts of Calcutta, Madras and Bombay and for the establishment of High Courts in their places, but for the establishment of a High Court by Letters Patent in any other part of Her Majesty’s territories not already included in the jurisdiction of another High Court. In the year 1866, the High Court of Judicature for the North-Western Provinces came into existence at Agra under Letters Patent of the 17th March, 1866, replacing the old Sudder Diwanny Adawlat.
On the eve of the Republic Day celebrations on the 26th January, 1950 the date of commencement of the Constitution of India, the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad came to have jurisdiction throughout the entire length and breadth of the State of Uttar Pradesh.At present, sanctioned strength of Judges of the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad is 160. The Decisions of Allahabad High Court are appealed to Supreme Court of India. It one of the first high courts to be established in India. Allahabad High court was built by Khan saheb Nizamuddin of Loha Mundi, Agra, India. He also donated the water fountain to the High court.
Question Paper Pattern
The process consists of 2 levels such as written exam and Interview. The written exam question paper has two stages such as Stage I and Stage II.
The Stage I has two parts. Part A has Objective type questions consists of General English, Computers & General Science and Part B is subjective type, whereas translation of the passage in shorthand to English. The total marks are 100.
The Stage II exam will be conducted in shorthand test and Computer Knowledge test in Part A and Part B respectively. Here the total marks are 200.
PA Recruitment
The recruitment process started to fulfil the empty seats. The total available vacancies are 63 posts. Out of 63, 38 post for fresh and 25 posts for backlog. This recruitment will be conducted by the direct committee of Allahabad High court. Thus the candidates will be filtered purely based on the selection process.
